How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015354 / WPW10121977 Endcap, Pantry (Rh)

Door gasket was easy to remove and reinstall. Original gasket was penetrated while cleaning food stuff from folds in the seal below the frig doors. (Gasket is very fragile so don't try to expand the folds while cleaning. I used my finger and a paper towel but in hindsight should have used a Q-Tip. Also, when installing the new gasket you have to be sure the seam folds over the edge of the door and doesn't get caught underneath. 

Right-side gasket replacement was straightforward. Left side required removal of mullion, which stumped me. I contacted Appliance Parts Pros who gave me the necessary instructions: Remove the center screw and lift up the mullion. Simple enough, once I knew how to do it. 

Bought new "End Caps" with pins in question a part of them. Went to YouTube and watch video showing replacement of "End Caps." 

The peg on the left side END CAP broke a number of years ago. This is an easy repair. Just make sure you don't break any of the plastic parts during the repair. The right side has the further complication that the temperature control slide for the drawer must be moved from the old END CAP to the new END CAP. 

The hinge pin for the cover to the bottom pantry pullout drawer had broken off. I replaced the broken right-side pantry drawer endcap with the replacement part. I googled "How to pantry drawer endcap" and found a youtube video showing how to detach the existing and install the new part. It was an easy and quick repair that took 15 minutes, with slightly different variations from the video --eg This part had quick release instead of hex bolts to attach metal track rail. Preparing refrigerator -- pull out crisper bins and lower shelves, and cleaning took longer than removal and installation of the part. 

The tabs are attached to the endcaps which were not hard to replace, although it did require disconnecting/removing the control for the deli drawer (a tab that opens and closes the vent, and the shelf and drawers above the deli drawer. No tools needs, but it took some effort to figure out how to snap everything in place. Took about 30-45 minutes including some cleaning. 

Purchased the replacement from appliance parts pros, and with the tips on the website, it popped in super easily. No tools needed. Be ready to remove all pieces from the lower part of the fridge. Everything pops in/out easily. When you pop the see through top back on, you'll have to pull in the sides to give it a slight arc. It'll pop right on when you get it in place. Quick to replace, but I washed all the parts before putting them back in (fridge cleaning time). 

With the help of "live chat", I ordered the correct part. The good news is my husband installed the new part and fixed the deli drawer lid. The bad news is the instructions given when the part was ordered and by Kandace C upon installation were not helpful at all. It was very complicated to remove the old drawer mechanism on the right side. I thank AppliancePartsPros for sending what we needed and I thank my very patient husband for fixing the problem. 

Ordered a new piece from Appliance Pros,recieved it quickly and installed it with no problems. 

The how to video from APP was easy to follow. My fridge does not have screws so that threw me for a second. Since the right side end cap has the moisture control lever there were a few extra steps to disconnect and reconnect that piece. Overall, I spent more time cleaning parts I normally can’t see than it took for me to replace the part. It is good as new!!
