This is a cover assembly that fits over the water dispenser area on the front of the refrigerator. It protects the internal dispenser components and provides a finished appearance on the exterior of the door. Replace this cover if it is cracked, broken, discolored, or if it no longer snaps securely into place.
There was a little tiny black part inside of where the water comes out. I took a photo of that part, then I studied the tech specs for the make and model of my fridge for almost 2 hours until I found a part that looked very similar to my photo of the little black part. This is a small white plastic plug that fills the hinge sleeve hole on a refrigerator or freezer door. Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy.
