Daniel R Rochester Hills , MI November 06, 2017 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT2500AAE Wash cycle would not finish complete cycle fill and wash cycle would complete then drain cycle and spin was intermittent. I did some trouble shooting by turning the ring on the timer , was able to get the drain cycle to work by moving the ring around control knob. This would work some of the time and other times you could hear motor try to start then stop if I moved the dial too far. I checked to see if this occurred on other permanent and delicate cycle as well and found similar issues with draining or spinning. I found your trouble shooting guide with related and parts to problems very useful. I was able to determine issue was more than likely the timing mechanism and decided it probably be good to replace the pump and drive belts while I was at it. Timer and belts took me about 40 minutes to remove and replace, Machine is running like new! Thanks for the helpful tips and the made in USA parts! David L Warsaw , IN November 14, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LAT2500AAE After discussing the problem with your chat system the timer needed to be replaced 5/8 nut driver,7/8 nut driver, Philips screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver, needle nose pliers. I watched several AppliancePartsPros. videos of timer replacements. Start to finish 7 minutes to complete the job. Unscrewed back panel of the control module. On the front dial pulled the plastic cap off, used needle nose pliers and removed clip from the shaft. Pulled all items of the shaft placed in order of removal. Unscrewed the two screw with nut driver. On the back, removed the lid control block, removed timer, unplug wiring block and ground wire. New timer plugged wire block, attached ground wire, and screwed time back into position, reattached lid control block. Place all item back on the shaft in order of removal, reattach clip on the shaft. Snap on the plastic cap. Done.. Works like a new one... Read More...
