This thermostat is a temperature-sensitive switch that opens and closes the heating circuit to control heat. Replacing a worn or failed thermostat restores consistent temperature regulation and helps protect your appliance from overheating, shutdowns, or underheating.
Changed Thermistor, Thermostats and the Thermal Fuse Assembly. I did not remove drum, so squeezing my hands in-between drum and vent hose pipe to remove screws was a tight fit, but doable. Read more
A high-limit thermostat that stops the dryer's heating circuit if internal temperatures get too high, helping prevent overheating and protecting heating components. Replaces a failed high-limit thermostat to restore overheat protection. What it does

This element repair kit restores a safe, solid electrical connection to an electric range/cooktop surface burner, helping the element heat consistently and reducing arcing after the original connector has overheated or loosened.
PLEASE UNPLUG DRYER FIRST. This was my first attempt at trying to fix my dryer (Maytag SDE515DAYW). Order the element kit Part Number AP4046564. The installation was easier than I thought. Just removed the two front panels and I was able to reach the back of the dryer, under the drum (this is where the heat element was located), disconnected the wires (took pictures first) and removed the two screws that held the heat element. Pulled the part down and it just slid off. Connected all the wires... Read more
This 250V, 1A fuse protects your washer's control circuit from overcurrent. Replacing it can restore control power once the root cause is corrected.
Lid switch problem. Easy to fix, not so easy to diagnose. First thing to look at if something goes wrong and there does not appear to overtly be mechanical issue like pump, etc. Read more
This thermostat monitors appliance temperature and opens or closes its electrical contacts to regulate heat and protect against overheating. Replacing a failed thermostat restores consistent temperature control and reliable appliance operation. What it does:
I replaced both the cycling thermostat and the hi limit thermostat along with a new thermal fuse and it seems to have fixed the problem. I thought it might be one of the thermostats but they both had continuity so I decided one of them must be faulty in some way so I just replaced both of them. I was very pleased with the prices and the quick shipping from Appliance Parts Pros. The parts were at my house in only a day and a half from when I ordered them. Read more

A high limit thermostat that stops heat when a dryer's temperature gets too hot, helping protect the heating system and cabinet from overheating. It's a direct-replacement thermostat used in many gas and electric dryer heater assemblies. What it does:
When I pulled out the dryer from the wall, I could see dust/lint had accumulated everywhere and the vent system was compromised. I vacuumed up the dust/lint accumulation outside and then inside the vent system. I then opened the lower cabinet to clean and check its condition. I removed the water steamer bottle and its sub-assembly and then the drum. After cleaning and inspecting components — both visually and with a multi-meter I determined the problem was the appliance doing what it was... Read more
The thermal cutoff is an OEM part for Whirlpool dryers. This thermal cutoff plays an important safety role by automatically shutting off power to the dryer's heating element in the event of excessive temperatures. The thermal cutoff is responsible for monitoring air temperatures inside the dryer drum and air ducts. As temperatures rise past safe levels, the thermal cutoff triggers, cutting power to prevent damage and possible fire hazards. Causes of a bad thermal cutoff can include overheating from issues such as a clogged or blocked vent hose, venting into an unvented space, an accumulation of lint, or a failing vent switch. Symptoms of a bad thermal cutoff include:
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.
