Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker stopped producing ice   William W. • Southampton , NJ • July 31, 2015

My first hour: I investigated first by pulling out refridgerator to see if the water line hose was kinked. I started under the kitchen sink where it begins, coming from faucet water supply. Then I followed it to the back of the fridge to see if anything looked odd. Next I went to the ice maker itself. I investigated the ice maker by removing the freezer food sliding tray and hanging tray, and then unscrewing the door off the slides. When I looked inside at the ice maker, I saw the tube where... After researching a number of sites for a diagnosis I tended to think the culprit was going to be the ice maker thermostat. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The icemaker stopped making ice   Dennis B. • Reno , NV • October 10, 2014

I replaced the icemaker. It was fairly easy, with the most difficult part being access to the icemaker in the bottom freezer. I loosened two screws, removed one additional screw, disconnected the wiring and removed the old icemaker. I mounted the wiring harness and ice level sensor arm from the old unit onto the new icemaker and installed it with no problems. I wish I'd done this months ago instead of repeatedly attempting to repair the old icemaker. Read more
