This is a rubber or nylon washer that creates a watertight seal between the dishwasher's water supply hose and the faucet adapter connection. It prevents leaks at the point where the supply line attaches to the household faucet or water inlet valve. Replace this washer if you notice dripping or pooling water around the faucet connection when the dishwasher is running.
The dishwasher is 4 years old, so I figured since it was leaking from the bottom, replacing the Tub Gasket PN: AP5690109, Splash Shield Kit PN: AP4338941 , and the bottom Door Seal/Gasket PN: AP5809675 was a good idea; the machine probably has around 1200 cycles in 4 years. There's no telling how much the door had opened and closed!?
