After turning off the gas and unplugging the electricity, I removed all the burners from the stove top using a 3/16" hex socket. Then used a 1/4" socket to removed two or three screws under each burner which hold the burner base to the bottom of the top panel. When trouble shooting the problem I found that the light switch housing outer lip was broken allowing the switch to push through mounting surface behind the oven door. This is a slide in range so, I proceeded to pull the range away from the counter where I could unplug the power cord. Once the power was off like located the panel on the right upper side of the unit and removed the screws to allow access to the switch. I had to take out the bottom drawer that holds pans. Disconnect the power and pull the oven out. Removed door, rear panel that held the screws for the side panel and lift up and out the side panel. After that it was straight forward as to replacing the hinge. Spent more time cleaning the florr where the oven was than installing the hinge. Read more
