Robert B Madison , WI October 09, 2019 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LFX31925ST ER FF code on the front of the refrigerator After clearing ice from the freezer fan area (twice) did not solve the problem, we presumed that the freezer fan/motor had stopped functioning. We looked up the parts on AppliancePartsPros website and ordered. The parts arrived within a day and a half. After watching a couple of installation videos, the parts were fairly easily replaced using standard screwdrivers. The freezer now works great! Patrick O Monroe Township , NJ March 22, 2016 Appliance: Model LFX33975ST Loud noise coming from the freezer section (bottom) of my fridge Emptied freezer, took door off rails, removed all drawers, opened and removed sensor in top corner, pulled out back wall of freezer (where fans were) and found the fan that was making the noise. Replaced it and put everything back. Hardest part was actually putting the top drawer back in on the rail. Benjamin R St. Augustine , FL April 28, 2017 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LFX31925SW Ice maker would not freeze water or makes ice test button functioned properly fan suspected This problem was with an LG French Door unit. Trouble shot the problem with one of the AppliancePartsPros and she came to the same conclusion: cold air fan from the freezer inoperable. Everything was done professionally. When the fan arrived (within 48 hours...OUTSTANDING!) I began to unload the freezer to remove the back panel and replace the fan. Then I saw the ICE....LOTS OF ICE over the airflow inlets. Removed the drawers, got the old ladies hair dryer and in 30 minutes I was making ice cubes again. Needed a thorough defrost to fix the system. Now I have a brand new fan if the old one ever wets and bed. Parts Pros are great but my repairs are a live and learn practice. Rebecca J Portsmouth , OH October 18, 2024 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LFX33975ST/01 Loud grinding noise Took the back freezer panel off to find exactly what we suspected. There was ice build up around the fan which explains the noise I’d been hearing for months. Took out the old fan and replaced it with the new. Also defrosted the ice before putting it all back together. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
John J New Smyrna Beach , FL October 10, 2023 Ice maker not making ice. I first replaced the ice maker but that did not resolve the problem. Did a lot of searching on the internet. Most of the information found suggested I should replace the main control board. Additional information was difficult to find but eventually learned that a separate fan motor pushes cold air to the icemaker. Fan is located in a compartment inside the freezer area. Ordered/Replaced the fan. Icemaker now working again ?.It took longer to get the freezer door back on than it did to remove and install the part. The video on your website was extremely helpful. George T Duluth , GA March 28, 2022 Appliance: Kenmore Refrigerator 79574015410 The freezer fan was very noisy when running. Went on to AppliancePartsPros.com & searched their documentation for the Kenmore Elite 795 series fan. Found the fan motor & a video on how to replace. Noticed that others ordered a motor assembly with their fan motor. Also noticed the associated parts videos showed one fan in the freezer and others showed two. So ordered both parts to be safe, knowing I could return the other part. I was able to follow the associated video step by step except for the ice maker, which was blocking the removal of the rear wall. It took me an hour to figure out how to remove it without breaking it. Also had to remove the upper rails in my model (freezer compartment underneath) to remove the back wall. Removing the wall was tough the cooling fins were loaded with ice. Had to defrost them with a hair dryer to even unplug the temp sensor and fan. Turned out my model only had the fan motor (no motor assembly needed). After moving the panel to the repair area, I found a large chuck of ice inside that was probably hitting the fan blades and caused the noise - the fan looked and sounded fine. But I replaced the fan motor anyway since I did not want to have to go through the process again if it was the source. Buttoned everything up and the fridge is silent again. Happy with the part & the support via the video. I had even purchased a copy of the service manual to learn how to dissemble the freezer but would have never succeeded without the video. Read More...
