How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7223088 / EAU65089701 Fan Motor Assembly (Dc)

Was making a rubbing sound inside, had error code Er rF. Removed fan shroud at back of fridge and found ice buildup. Removed the ice, replaced the air circulation fan and is working great now. 

Found error code to be the refrigerator fan motor. Had to remove all the shelving, a couple off screws n pulled out back panel. You have to be careful when pulling out the panel because of possible ice build up. 

OMG, there were videos to tell me just how and what to take off to get to the repair. It was amazing. It was a challenge knowing I could do it as a woman. We ended up changing about 6 to 8 parts..ice maker, water valve, three fans, thermostats. Was about to change out the control board when I found out the compressor was still in warranty. There was a little light on the control board which appliancepartspros personnel even walked me thru that it was either the control board or the compressor which was causing a flashing light on the control board to flash. I ended up calling Sears and had a service tech come out and tell me if it was compressor and he determined it was and changed it out with little cost for other parts. Appliancepartspros was so helpful. They walked me thru replacing the ice maker on three refrigerators. I'm a pro now and a woman of age 74 at that. 

I spoke with Erika G in customer support. Based on the error messages on the refrigerator she quickly identified the proper parts and provided both a parts diagram and a YouTube video to help with the replacement project. Accessing the motors is a bit tricky but doable if you take your time. It is necessary to remove all of the shelving and some of the side panels. The refrigerator was back up and running in just a couple of hours. 

Replaced Fan Motor EAU64824401 using video on YouTube posted by the AppliancePartsPros. com. The aatual repair time was just minutes but it took a long time (over 16 hours) to melt all the ice which accumulated on the refrigerator evaporator coils and back wall cover (where the fan motor is installed). Prior to getting the part from the AppliancePartsPros.com I've waited for 2 weeks for the LG to send me the replacement part (sold through Amazon) but it never arrived so the order got canceled. I should of ordered it from the AppliancePartsPros.com, from the start - the part arrived next day with 2-day shipping and fits perfect, The fridge works now for a week without any noise or other issues. Very pleased with this repair - there was not a single repair shop willing to service this fridge in our rural area. And saved the cost of a new fridge - which is $K these days! 

Replace the refrigerator DC Fan Motor Assembly. Ice buildup on the refrigerator coils took longer than expected but we accomplished it. 

Replaced with new fan motor. The evaporator was not iced up. The motor had gone bad. Note: This is the third motor. The original one lasted 4 years. The next one lasted 4 years. We'll see how long this one lasts. 

Unplugged refrigerator. Used a hairdryer to melt the ice and took out the fan motor. Ordered the fan and motor from a different supplier and received the wrong parts 3 times and sent them back. Called AppliancePartsPros.com. Spoke with your customer rep, who was wonderful, and received the right parts the next day. Installed the fan and motor, put everything back together and the refrigerator is working perfectly. Now I have to figure out why the ice maker dispenser has not been working for the last 8 months. It makes ice but I think the motor for the dispenser must be replaced. 

Replaced it, part was the correct one, also your video on how to install it was great, should have a video on every part for install. Will use you again in the future.
