Karen S Port Matilda , PA March 18, 2019 Appliance: Model KSBS25FJBL01 KITCHENAID Our Kitchenaid refrigerator stopped cooling We found a forum that suggested that the start relay may be bad. The technician said that if the relay rattled, that meant that the part disintegrated, and ours did. We replaced it and it is now working fine! Read More... Pam K Astoria , IL February 15, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool Side By Side Refrigerator ED5FTGXKQ00 My refrigerator quit cooling. I went online to troubleshoot and came across a video showing me how to check my start relay. I took the part off and shook it like the video told me to. It rattled so I ordered the kit. The hardest part was figuring out which of the parts in the kit were needed for my refrigerator. (There are extra parts depending on what style relay you had.) I reread the instructions and watched the video again and selected the correct overload protector for my EGY90 Compressor. I installed that and my new relay, hooked the wires back up, put the new cover on, and Voila! I was done. I put the cover back on the back and plugged her in. She started cooling immediately! This isn't the first time (nor the last) that I have used this site to fix an appliance. Thank you!! I'm so proud of myself! Read More... Michael M Chapel Hill , NC January 24, 2019 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GS6SHAXLL03 Refrigerator/freezer would not stay cold. I noticed a clicking noise that repeated, and from other reports online figured that the compressor starter had gone bad. I ordered the relevant kit (Whirlpool unit) and hoped for the best. The kit came with two different starters (one for each type of compressor used in the appliance). I identified the compressor and selected the appropriate starter. (Note: the part number on the starter I used did not match the number in the installation directions, but the two new parts were also color-coded, and so I matched the color on the new one against the defective one). The refrigerator has been running fine overnight - ice in the freezer, cold milk in the refrigerator. All for under $50! Read More...
