How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018710 / WPW10285179 Electronic Control Board

Tested the thermal fuse with an ohm meter. The fuse was ok. The next recommended likely failure point was the controller board. I bought the board from Appliance Parts Pros on a Tuesday night and asked for two day shipping so I could have it by Friday, but it arrived on Thursday (one day). The board has the color of the wires to connect embossed on its plastic case. That makes it very easy, although I took pictures of the boards and cables before I removed the board, just in case. When I removed the old board I found that a capacitor was blown as it had split apart. When I plugged the new board in the dishwasher worked correctly. Subsequently I asked Appliance Parts Pros if they had a program to buy back the old controller board for refurbishment, but they don't. They suggested I sell it on eBay or Amazon. 

Talked to a coworker who has used your service and he convinced us to try and fix this instead of buying a new one. Reading through your website, we saw similar people writing in with same problem so isolated the problem to two parts-Electronic Control board or Control panel. Replaced the Control panel and it immediately was fixed! Knew we could return the other part for a refund too. Saved us at least $800! 

Ordered the proper control board. Amazingly, I got the part delivered to my home by FedEx in 24 hours. I replaced the original board and now my dishwasher works fine. Your office also provided me with an instruction manual in case I needed help. I'm satisfied by your service. Manny

While it was expensive, ordered it anyway. 12:34pm day one-online order------10:00am next morning, part arrived UPS!!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! installed it in 15 minutes or so. wife loaded the dishes,,,,,,PRESTO! I purchased both the door switch and control unit. I installed the door switch, a very easy job and it fixed the dishwasher. I didn't need the control unit so I'm returning it for a refund. 

Found burned-out section of the circuit board. Purchased a new circuit board. Also Checked the thermal switch. It tested bad. Purchased a new thermal switch. Installed both. Put the control panel back on the dishwasher. All worked like new now. Watched a video to help perform this work. I will always come back to AppliancePartsPros.com for all my repair needs. 

Replaced control board. 

At first, we thought it was a union dishwasher and was on strike for better water and one of those high end dishwasher detergents. We realized it was an electrical issue and not mechanical (or labor related). Started with the door latch switches as those are the most frequent of problems. No joy there. Next, we decided on replacing the main electronic board. Voila!!! That was the trick. Including removal and re-install of the entire unit, opening up the guts, replacing said guts, and slapping it back together: 2 hours. All parts were easy to find and shipping was fast. And then there's that no labor charge thingie too!!!
