How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011209 / WP74010750 Electric Range Oven Bake Element

Replaced Oven Bake Element. The website identified the likely causes and the Oven Bake Element was the part needing replacement 66% of the time. The part was very easy to install, and the whole process took about 15 minutes. The warning from other users to "make sure that the wires don't fall back inside" was good advice. Two screws hold the Oven Bake Element in place, so you do need a screwdriver. Pliers may be needed to separate the wire clips from the old Oven Bake Element. The whole process went very smoothly. The oven bakes fine now! 

Ordered a new part and replaced it easily. This specific part is very easy to replace and only requires a Phillips screwdriver. I have replaced this part twice in my oven. From start to finish it is less than 15 minutes. 

Installed oven bake element The video instructions were good. Alas, the power clips came loose during removal. This was easily remedied by taking off the back cover's 10 screws, finding the wires, attaching them from the back. The assemblers left no slack on one of the power wires, causing the disconnect. Since it was not a built-in model this was easy. I was able to leave slack and reassemble quickly. Moving the appliance from the wall had the added bonus of giving me the opportunity to clean back there. If it had been a built-in, I'm sure it would've been much more complicated. 

Called two places, one said "not in stock" not until January 15 at earliest. Called you, had part in six days, watched your video. Wife amazed that the stove actually worked after I did what you showed me. Wow! Thanks. 

Part delivered as promised. Easy installation two screws out, unsnap old unit, snap new unit and secure in place. Took me a little longer than example but was as easy as suggested for a diy. Pleased with results 

I replaced the element with simple home tools, no electrician required, but I did need the parts. The element burned out just a few days before Thanksgiving. The replacement parts were quickly shipped and made it to me in time to install and cook my holiday dinner.

My bottom bake element was not glowing red hot, but my top bake element was heating up properly. I replaced the bottom bake element in <10 minutes and that solved my problem.
