How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011883 / WP8183270 Door Latch Assembly

I replaced the automatic door lock. I removed the spring band around the rubber gasket that will allow you access to the door lock. Use two small screwdrivers to pull back the tension on the spring, be careful not to gash the rubber gasket. I removed the two torx screws from the front of the washer that secure the lock. Next I removed the three wires that plug into it. Don't worry about mixing the wires up, they are all keyed differently so they will only fit into their proper outlet. Installation is the reverse. Double check that the spring band is in it's proper groove with the rubber gasket properly seated. Easy job. 

First replace door latch assembly , one of the internal swiches was NG. Still had E1 f6, found burned spot on MCB board and replaced it. All is good now.

Removed boot retaining ring pulled the boot away from the cabinet flange near the door lock unscrewed and disconnected old lock and installed new. 

Located the problem and the repair through google. Ordered the part through your company and presto the repair, a door latching assembly was installed and complete. Arrived 2 days after ordering. I was absolutely amazed with how quick the product shipped. It arrived at my house (standard shipping) in a little over 24 hours. Fixed the issue by replacing the door latch assembly, retested and replicated the issue, and then moved on to the motor control board. Upon removing the motor control board, it was clear that 3-4 components on the board had been destroyed. Overall the fix should have only taken 15-20 minutes. However, I spent just about as much time fighting with the silly spring-tensioned retaining clamp. With the help of your online chat, it was determined to be the door latch assembly. The service manual stated to hit any three buttons; except the power button and hold for 5 sec each. The unit did not go into the service mode. After discussing with your people, it was determined to hit three buttons...three times. After doing this, it went into service mode and we were able to get the code out of the washer. Which told us to replace the door latch switch. 

The installation of the door lock has been well covered. I would like to speak to this company's customer service. I ordered the part on Sunday evening and the part was at my doorstep on Tuesday. Service doesn't get any better than that. Thank you!
