How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3130817 / 676413 Latch Kit

New latch 

I used the percent chance on the troubleshooting guide to order the following parts; detergent lid spring and pin, latch kit and lastly the actuator spring. The parts were about 35 dollars with shipping and handling. I used the instructions provided by appliancepartspros.com. When I took it apart the first time a few pieces fell out. I put it back together and ran a cycle only to find out that the latch still did not open. It took about a hour the second time and I got everything in right and now it works just fine. 

Replaced door latch. 

I replaced 3 parts in the door. The door latch and 2 springs. were replaced. 

Bought replacement part and installed it. Less than five minutes! 

It was very simple. Ordered the part, all of the video, done. 

Took the door apart installed the right parts that was sent to me the first time. Hassle free ordering, got the parts when they said I would! Very polite and professional people. Will call again when something needs a part. 

Got the part, working Great! 

The latch to the soap dispenser was broken. I was able to loosen the remainder of the latch some with pliers but pieces of it kept breaking off due to age. I was able to get it off with removing the retainer on the back of the door panel. It took a couple of tries to get the new latch and retainer on but I got it done. The most difficult part of replacing the spray arm and tube was getting the hangers-on and making sure they were in the right direction. Everything else was easy. 

Removed the inner door. Installed the new latch.
