How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013694 / WP9704230 Blender Drive Coupler

The coupler screws on (instead of righty tighty it is lefty tighty ) The old coupler is kind of hard to get off because it spins when you try to loosen it. Watch the video provided on the site to help you. You have to give the old coupler a sharp tap to get it loose. 

Had Removed old coupling as per your video. less than five minutes. when new coupling arrived it took longer to open the package then to install the coupling, less than a minute. very easy, thanks to you and your video

Removed old drive coupler by turning it clockwise, using a screwdriver tip and small hammer and tapping it lightly. Finished unscrewing the old part and replaced with new one 

We believe in fixing appliances but as everyone knows, that's not easy now. We've ordered appliance parts online so we have some experience with a couple of companies but Appliance Parts Pros is the best company we've ever used. The diagram of our blender was easy to read but the how-to video was why I give you all a 5 star rating. Without it, we wouldn't have been able to fix our blender. The metal plate holding the coupler was hard to remove. It looked like it was designed to be part of the unit so without the video we wouldn't have applied force with the screw driver. The part we ordered came faster than we expected and the price was very reasonable. We are enjoying our blender again!! Thank you. 

To hold the shaft from turning, we used heavy twine sprayed with spray adhesive that we wrapped around the shaft. Then as shown in the video on AppliancePartsPros.com, we used a screwdriver and hammer to hit the old rubber coupler in a clockwise direction to break the threads free. Then after removing the string, we simply started the new coupler on the shaft threads, turning it counter-clockwise. Finally we positioned the blender jar and powered up the unit to fully seat the new coupler. 

Quick fix - pry off old one with a flathead screwdriver, thread on new one. Done! 

Ordered the requisite parts that took two minutes to install and blender works great! 

Knocked coupler clockwise & unscrewed it. Put new coupler on. It was as easy as that.
