How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013694 / WP9704230 Blender Drive Coupler

I bought a new coupler. Prior to that I watched a couple of repair videos on U-Tube. When the part came (very quickly) I used a flat blade screwdriver and tapped the broken coupler with the flat blade and hammer in a clockwise direction. It loosened up with a minimum of force. I removed the old coupler and screwed on the new one in a counter-clockwise direction. The whole job took about 10 minutes and was very easy. 

I ordered a replacement drive coupler from AppliancePartsPros. It came in two days. I then carefully removed the remaining pieces of heavy rubber from the old drive coupler, still on the blender, with a small pliers. Then, with a wide, flat blade screwdriver, I slowly bent upwards the edges of the remaining aluminum disc of the old drive coupler, working around the coupler slowly, several times, so as to not disturb the main part of the blender. This loosened up the screw threads from the old drive coupler, allowing me to then unscrew it with just my hands. Pretty easy. Screwing the new drive coupler on (reverse thread direction, of course) was a cinch. 

I watched the video 2 or 3 times on how to change the coupler. Then I took my flat head screw drive and removed the old coupler. Then screwed the new coupler on. The video make it look pretty easy. Your how to videos really does help thanks.

I watched the video on their website and now my kitchen aid blender works perfectly. 

Ordered a replacement part from AppliancePartsPros and followed the instructions to remove the old part and install the new part. The entire process took less than 5 minutes.

I watched several on line tutorials and fall owed the directions that came with the new part. I had our Kitchen Aid blender fixed in less then 5 minutes . I Pryed off the old , worn lower coupler with a flat head screwdriver, I cleaned the theads on the drive shaft then I screwed on the new lower coupler. BAM! It was fixed. Thank you! 

The part actually came with instructions on how to remove and replace the coupler. I also googled the topic and a youtube.com video was available. Mad at myself for not thinking of this SOONER! LOL!
