How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3120822 / 8316845 Self Leveling Leg Spring

I replaced all springs. Even the tiny one in the back that keeps the rear legs stabilized. Total time to replace springs might have been 15min. I'll recommend using a trampoline spring hook, or screwdriver, to pull the springs into place. 

After watching the video that Appliance Parts Pros provided. I replace just about all parts that would cause the washing machine to shake and move. Their video on how to replace each part was better than any one I had seen on YouTube. I just want to thank them for providing just great service. Once all parts were replaced I tested it with an empty load it was great. I got behind on my washing and had several loads. The washer does better now then when I first bought it new. The only thing I can hear when doing a load on laundry it the agitator during the wash cycle. I can not hear it when it goes into the spin cycle. I can not say enough about the outstanding help Appliance Parts Pros video are when doing a repair. 

After replacing subfloor, underlayment and floor the machine was still unbalanced possibly because it had been unbalanced for so long some springs had maybe stretched more than others. We replaced all the springs and wear pads, thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned all 4 feet and underneath the machine. Now the washing machine is working better than ever. 

I worked on our dryer and our washer and I have more parts coming. The dryer needed a door switch and the washer needed the suspension springs replaced. I was able to fix them by taking them apart and listening to the appliance and my gut. 

I discovered you guys by luck via a Google search. I found your site to be laid out well and be very informative. That being said, I decided to order the recommended parts. I felt confident based on recommendations from several how-to videos on your site. First off, the parts came much, much quicker than expected. Secondly, as I started my project, I had my girlfriend reference the aforementioned videos, in real time. The machine came apart just as your video said. I am no stranger to technical projects but I usually stick to cars and motorcycles. Every part that I ordered I was able to install with no issue. Well, all but one. I wasn't able to change out any of the pads because I could not get that weird nut off under the agitator. I decided to skip the pads and order the correct wrench later. As luck would have it, the springs were the issue. No more Saturday Night Fever in the laundry room. Of course I will order the wrench I need and change the pads for good measure. All in all, I had a great experience and you guys made me the hero of my household, if just for a brief moment! Thank you for the excellent service and info to boot! It is definitely a rare thing these days! 

I replaced the 3 balancing springs the one self-leveling spring and the balancing pads beneath the washing tub. That definitely fixed the problem. 

After assuring that the washer was level and self-leveled, I finally figured out that a suspension spring and its clip were missing. I am an amateur, do-it-yourselfer, watched several YouTube videos. With the help of AppliancePartsPros chatline, I identified part numbers and fixed my washer myself, avoiding the cost of a small appliance repairman's diagnostic and/or repair visits or, at worst, the cost of a new washer. So fulfilling and satisfying to fix the old washer like new. Followed the trouble shooting guide. Ordered the parts. Fast delivery. Followed the video for installation. Great repair that can be done by about anyone. 

I spoke with customer service rep. I described the problem and ordered 3 Suspensions Springs, One self leveling leg spring and a counterbalance spring kit since the washer was going to be down, I thought why take a chance and replace all of them at one time. When I received an email of the order it had the repair videos for each springs embedded in the email. This is huge! What a great idea! When the parts came in, I opened the email and watched the repair videos instead of hunting through the web site. The counterbalance spring set was suppose to have 3 springs in the kit however it only had 2. I called customer service. and they were great! They sent another set overnight to me and the machine is no longer making scraping noise and working as designed. Appliance Parts Pros. have a great business model. I don't know why everyone on the net is not following this approach. Way to go guys, I will be using you in the future. 

We watched these videos and thought it could be that the counterbalance spring was gone. The washer would start off fine, then when it got to the part of the cycle where it re-fills for rinse, the tub was leaning forward and water rushing out the back. We tilted the washer back and looked underneath and right away saw the counterbalance spring had snapped and was just dangling, not attached to the frame. We ordered the part on here and it arrived the next day. Instead of taking the machine all the way apart, I just tilted it again and my husband swapped out the spring in 2 minutes. Saved us from buying a new washer!!
