How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013516 / WP8577356 Timer (Mechanical Cycle Control)

Searched for my washer's model number and your website came up, followed the video to remove the old timer, matched it with the picture to be sure I had the correct part, ordered it on-line from your website, the new timer arrived in 5 days, watched the video again to install the new timer, end of broken washer. My wife did 90% of the work because I'm still recovering from major surgery. 

New timer switch was replaced and it works like a charm. The video was a HUGH plus. Thanks for your help WHIRLPOOL was going to charge $400.00 to do what I did for $119.00. 

Replaced timer.....I ordered this part on Monday, it arrived before 10 am on Tuesday, the washer was repaired before 11 am. 

Looked up problem on Appliance Parts Pros - saw the convenient video which I watched - that confirmed my thoughts on it being a timer. Ordered new timer from Appliance Parts. Delivered "fast" on time and in good shape. Had a little trouble installing the new timer's knob because I had left out a step to reset the inner post on the timer to allow the knob to go over the stem. Soooo re-watched the video and no problems when I followed the easy steps. My Bad!!!

I replaced the timer. I set my laptop on the dryer and followed the "how to" video step by step through the change out process. 

Figured it the problem was in the timer switch. Went on line to the AppliancePartsPros.com There watched the vidio on how to repair/replace it. Ordered the part on line - day later the part arrived. I followed what was show in the vidio and replaced it. The washer works like new and I saved money! 

I fix my washer using the video that you provide me. I did exactly the way it was describe and it was so easy to fix. I will pass your web site to all my friends thanks. 

My husband researched the problem and purchased a lid switch, timer,cam assembly, and a whirlpool direct drive washer motor coupling to rule out every possible problem. The machine was used when we received it over 10 years ago. It works better than ever. Fair disclosure, my husband is in the maintenance field.
