This part is a crankcase cover. The crankcase itself is what shields the crankshaft from any dirt or debris that would damage the engine. The crankcase is a pressurization chamber for the fuel-air mixture. This part is a cover for the crankcase. It's important that this shield is intact because any dirt or debris that gets into the engine can cause the engine to fail.A new crankcase cover may be needed if the crankcase cover is dented, broken, or damaged in any way. A visual inspection is sufficient. Remember to wear gloves when operating or performing care and maintenance on any outdoor power equipment machines. This part is a genuine MTD part and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. This crankcase cover is compatible with engines, lawnmowers, tillers, log splitters, chippers, shredders, and trimmers manufactured by MTD, Yard Machines, Cub Cadet, Husky, Yard-Man, and Troy-Bilt.
This cylinder head is made for use in many types of lawn and garden equipment. The cylinder head is located on top of the engine in the machinery. It is tasked with making sure the combustion chamber is sealed shut. The gap between the engine and the cylinder head will be filled using a head gasket. Another responsibility of the cylinder head is ensuring the cylinder is constantly lubricated. If the cylinder head isn't working, it may cause low oil levels, lowered engine performance, and exhaust smoke. To inspect the cylinder head, the grass shield and screen should first be removed. Remove the engine cover by taking out all of the bolts that secure it. Remove the engine shroud and the bolts that connect the head to the pump bracket. The cylinder head will be located under the valve cover. Remove it and install the replacement part before using the tool. This cylinder head is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. The cylinder head is created to be compatible with lawnmowers, string trimmers, edgers, log splitters, and wood chippers manufactured by MTD, Cub Cadet, and Craftsman.
Piston rings help to maintain the pressure between the piston and cylinder wall. If the compressed gas between these two parts begins to leak out, the engine will not be able to put out enough energy, and the lawn appliance will stop working. Piston rings can wear out over time due to engine overheating or faulty ignition in the engine. A telltale sign of a burnt-out piston ring is whitish-grey smoke coming from the appliance. Extreme oil inefficiency is another sign. This part is a genuine OEM part designed for Echo or Mantis handheld yard tools such as a chainsaw, hedge trimmer, leaf blower, edger, pole pruner, or tiller engine. It does not ship with other parts. Any additional parts needed to install the piston ring must be ordered independently.
This is a genuine OEM replacement piston ring that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in trimmers, blowers, and other outdoor power equipment. It is used to seal the space between the piston and the cylinder wall. This keeps the compression between the cylinder wall and the piston at a constant and prevents combusted gas from getting inside. Normal wear over time can cause the piston ring to break down. If the engine is producing excessive smoke or using more oil than normal, the piston ring may need to be replaced. If the engine loses power, the piston ring should be checked.Replace the piston ring using a screwdriver, socket set, and a nut driver. Wear gloves while working. Make sure the spark plug is removed from the engine. Take the engine and muffler cover off of the machine. Remove the carburetor and remove the piston ring. Clean the area to remove dirt and debris. This will help ensure a tight seal with the new piston ring. Reinstall all parts. This is a black cast iron piston ring that is sold individually. It is compatible with hedge trimmers, grass trimmers, and brush cutters manufactured by Shindaiwa and Echo.
