Unplugged oven and removed back panel of oven, found schematics taped to back of oven. Found a relay board that was burned where upper heating element plug connected to it. Replaced relay board and then repaired burned connector by replacing the spade terminal ends that were melted. Suspect connection was loose and that caused board damage. Microwave won't turn on, made popping noise, or smells like burned electrical? The noise filter often fails when solder joints arc or short out.
When using the microwave it made a frying sound and completely stopped working. Took cover off (after unplugging) and found filter coil solder joints fried. Took a chance on replacing filter. Works perfectly now. Looking at the solder joints again, under magnification, discovered they were not done properly in the first place.
