Gibson Lower Felt Seal
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5303937183

The Lower Felt Seal is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part creates a tight seal between the drum and the front panel, preventing air leakage and reducing energy consumption.

Symptoms of a failing Lower Felt Seal include:

  • Clothes getting snagged or caught during the drying cycle
  • Increased drying times due to heat escaping from the drum
  • Excessive noise or squeaking as the drum rotates
  • Visible wear, tears, or gaps in the felt seal

Causes of a bad lower felt seal can include regular wear and tear from the constant rotation of the drum, physical damage from overloading the dryer, or deterioration due to exposure to heat and humidity over time.

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Constant beeping no heat   Amy N. • Pike Road , AL • March 27, 2018

My 12 year old Frigidaire stack on top dryer had been beeping distress messages in some unintelligible code for about a year when it completely stopped producing heat. It also had a long standing issue with delicate fabrics and thin straps or drawstrings getting caught in the drum. After using this site to troubleshoot and viewing the useful how-to videos, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermal limiter, and felt seals. Based on others' stories, I decided to also replace the rear... Read more

Gibson Upper Felt Seal
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5303937182

The Upper Felt Seal is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It provides a seal between the dryer drum and the front panel, helping to retain heat and ensure efficient drying performance. This felt seal also minimizes friction between the drum and the front panel, reducing wear on the drum and the appliance itself. The seal measures approximately 16.5" long x 1" wide. The adhesive is included as well.

Causes of a bad upper felt seal can include wear and tear over time, exposure to high heat, or damage from foreign objects caught in the drum. A compromised felt seal can lead to inefficient drying and increased energy consumption.

Symptoms of a bad upper felt seal include:

  • Unusual noises during the drying cycle
  • Visible damage or gaps in the felt seal

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Felt/nylon "bearing" felt glide assembly for dryer drum front end support had worn nearly completely away   Harlan D. • Warrenville , IL • November 19, 2014

Get some acetone at a Hardware Store before you start. A pint will do. Unplug the dryer from 110 VAC. Pull the top off of the dryer, by lifting it from the front first. It is attached with snap metal fittings. Do not completely remove the top, just tip upright to gain access to the front interior of the dryer. Before you pull any wires from the door switch, record which color wires go to which terminals on the door switch. If you reassemble the connections incorrectly, the gas value will... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You They are 20 year old   Bruce A. • Folsom , CA • March 19, 2018

This was more maintenance than a fix. I replaced the door gasket and temp sensor on my dryer. Thought what the heck and it might work more efficiently. I also replaced the shocks on my front loading washer. That was a bit of a chore, but could not have done it without the video that showed how to replace them. The socket was the life saver. All is working just fine. Who knows maybe I'll get another 20 year out of them. Read more
