This air cleaner element is a genuine Echo replacement part for small engines that operate hedge trimmers. The function of an air cleaner element is to create a seal that protects the engine from collecting and taking in external dirt and debris that might debilitate the engine's infrastructure. The air cleaner element could fail from overuse; it is a part that must eventually be replaced as a part of routine maintenance, even with ordinary long-term use. If the air cleaner element is not effectively sealing, the rate at which the engine takes in air is lessened, thereby reducing the power and the fuel economy of the engine. If this occurs and it is determined that an overused or over-aged air cleaner element is at fault, as opposed to the air filter or another closely associated part, the air cleaner element should be replaced immediately and the appliance at hand should not be in use until it has been replaced.
