Fix an oven that won't heat, shuts down during cooking, or has a blank display. This control board manages temperature regulation and oven functions.
After troubleshooting to ensure that it was not a fuse that went out.and doing some research on the internet (including on this site) my adult son convinced me to purchase the rather pricey oven control board. The customer service rep was good. She also convinced me that there was no risk in our purchasing the part since we could return it if replacing the part did not solve my problem. Oven switches between bake and broil or won't heat above 250°F? This control board restores proper heating and display function. Moderate DIY repair.
I first tested and replaced the temperature sensor. Since this is a slide-in range, I managed to pull it out just enough to access the back without disconnecting the downdraft and gas line. (For wall models this would not be the case.) Unfortunately, that did not do it. Next I replaced the lower heating element because it was a little below the ohms level it should be at. No go.
