This wasn't really a 'fix' but here's what happened. Over the last 24 years the knobs on our JennAir electric cooktop were broken. Generic replacements didn't fit exactly. I constantly had to take them off, adjust the connector, and put them back. I'm selling the house and the inspection report noted this, so the buyer wanted them replaced.
