This is a black plastic shroud that covers and protects the caster wheel assembly on an appliance. It shields the caster mechanism from dust, debris, and damage while providing a clean finished look. Replace this shroud if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can expose the caster wheel to buildup that impedes smooth rolling.
