Split/leaking water line on my lg refrigerator Craig L. • Collinsville , TX • July 27, 2014
Removed the old line and replaced with the new. This is the sixth time I've replaced the line. Yes you read that right, the sixth time. Lines fail about every 6-8 months so I can change one out now in about 10-15 minutes. Bought the refrigerator in Feb '09 and the line first failed in March 2012. Since then I've had failures in as little as 4 months to as much as 9 months. Frustrating to say the least, but I'm a whiz at changing out the line :-)

Water spraying from filter supply line in back of refrigerator Marcus E. • Spanaway , WA • February 03, 2015
First, water and electricity don't mix, so make sure to unplug your refrigerator before beginning this repair - it shouldn't take more than an hour, so you shouldn't have to worry about spoilage. My water dispenser began making a hissing sound from the back of the fridge when you pressed the dispenser. Upon inspection, I discovered the 1/4" feed line into the filter housing assembly had cracked. I ordered the 1/4" feed and 5/16" return lines, figuring to replace the return line while I was back...

The condensing fan motor would not turn with power applied. Stephanie H. • Rio Vista , TX • August 29, 2017
I found the condensing fan motor would not turn with power applied. I also found a drain tube cracked and breaking.
I had to use a snub nose screwdriver to remove and replace condensing fan motor. The power wires were simply a snap on. The new drain tube just slipped on.
Thanks for the speedy delivery!

This plastic tube carries water within your refrigerator between internal components. Replacing a brittle, kinked, or leaking line restores dependable water flow and helps prevent drips that can damage interiors, cabinetry, or floors. What it does
- Routes water between internal components (such as valves, filters, reservoirs, and dispensers)
- Helps maintain proper water flow and pressure when intact and unkinked
- Typical failure symptoms: water leaks, slow or no water flow, visible cracks, flattening, or kinks
- Age- or heat-related hardening can cause stress cracks near bends or fittings
What's included
Install notes
- Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Note original routing and clip locations; avoid sharp bends, abrasion points, and hot surfaces
- Insert tube ends fully into their fittings (quick-connect or compression, per design) and gently tug to confirm they're seated
- Restore water, purge air as needed, and check all joints for leaks before pushing the unit back
