This heater assembly warms the wash water inside the tub so the control can reach and maintain the selected temperature. Replacing a failed element restores proper heating performance and helps return cycle times to normal. What it does:

Install notes:
- Disconnect power and turn off water before servicing
- The heater mounts at the bottom of the outer tub; remove front or rear panels as required by your model to access it
- Note wire locations; loosen the center nut, press the stud to release the old seal, and carefully withdraw the element
- Seat the new gasket evenly, tighten the nut to compress the seal, then run a test cycle to check for leaks and proper heating
