It was fairly obvious that the washer drainer motor had failed, water was not draining, filter was clean (bottom lower left panel door, have a pail ready!) and drain line was not blocked.
Someone had provided great advice on the Appliance Parts Pro's site about replacing the drain motor from the bottom. Great suggestion! Easy to do, although be prepared for more water to drain from the washing machine onto the floor after you lay it over.

I also noticed one of the two water recirculation outlets near the front door was no longer spraying water.
When I took it all apart, I found that these two tub water recirculation outlets are both connected to the pump.. one was clogged.
The impeller on the drain pump was no longer spinning with the motor.. looks like it was worn on the inside.. when I took the pump apart it was full of scale. I could have just ordered the motor...but I figured I would replace the entire assembly as I also...
