Microwave not heating or overheating? A faulty thermostat fails to regulate temperature properly. This part restores consistent heating performance.
Microwave won't power up or shuts off after seconds? Failed thermostats cause intermittent operation. Test for continuity—straightforward repair.
Removed OTR microwave. Checked the thermostat switches while power was applied with a DVM. Noticed that when a certain set of wires was moved the slightest bit the microwave would power up. Traced the wires to the thermostat switch for the cavity. Noticed that where one (of two) Faston terminals was crimped to the thermostat switch was black. (should be copper colored). That is a sure sign of arcing from a loose connection. Since the specification for the switch was to trip at 248F degrees... Read more

Fix microwave not heating evenly or auto-cook features failing with this humidity sensor. Common fix for sensor cooking errors. Moderate DIY repair.
Microwave won't heat? This humidity sensor monitors moisture and temperature to control cooking cycles. Restores heating function when microwave stops working.
Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Thanks for the advice and the cost of the parts. Read more
