This is a mechanical defrost timer that controls the automatic defrost cycle of the refrigerator. It periodically shuts off the compressor and energizes the defrost heater so frost can melt, helping maintain proper cooling performance.

  • Cycles the unit between cooling and defrost at set intervals
  • Stuck or failed timers can cause warm temperatures, heavy frost, or continuous running
  • Can also cause short-cycling or no-cool if contacts fail
What's included: One defrost timer assembly only. Installation notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Access is typically from the control housing or rear service area; note wire positions before removal
  • Replace one-for-one with the same terminal orientation; do not force the cam
  • After install, allow one full cycle to verify defrost operation
