My Maytag washer make a loud screech when the washer tub needed to be stopped by the brake. Last year, I had replaced the suspension springs, the snubber ring, the drive belt and the drain pump. The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. I am happy to say all the parts fit perfectly, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. I will definitely keep you on file for the next time I need appliance parts! Thank you! I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. First time DIY dryer repair. Videos very helpful! Remove front. Found glides worn thin, paint on drum removed where glides located. Drum, cage and motor turned easily - must be OK. Thirteen year old dryer. Order glides & felt, might as well replace belt and rollers while there. First time order - could not have been easier! Received 2nd day.
