I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. Originally the dryer was squeaking a lot, so I purchased a new belt tensioner, but the original tensioner was an old-style no wheel tensioner, so that wasn't the source of the squeaking. I saw a lot of lint had built up inside the unit where there shouldn't have been that much. The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch. This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years. One day my wife went to bake something and the bake/broil buttons as well as #3, #9, and oven light ceased to work. Local repair guy came by and wanted to charge $500 to fix it....YEAH RIGHT! Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Replaced the motor, blower, rear drum felt seal, and drive belt. Vacuumed up the lint everywhere, cleaned extra lint out of the chute, around the blower, and rear vents. Read more

Performed a partial rebuild of all expendables..clutch/brake/ seals/agitator cogs/suspension springs..chose to replace the basket drive rather than rebuild...cost diff was minimal.did rebuild the drive tube..seals/bearings..have spare control card..so exposure is to motor or gearbox failure..both of which are easy pulls..Whether we would rebuild or replace gearbox upon some future failure is undecided.
