Tried to put refrigerator in defrost mode and defrost would not initiate. Checked the bi-metal and heater, both tested good. Replaced the ADC board and refrigerator went in to defrost. problem solved. Read more

I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. I completed all the tasks that I could without having to disconnect the refrigerator since it was full of food. Very easy to replace. Take off cover to auger compartment. Unplug power connector from auger motor. Remove four screws holding auger motor to refrig. Put new auger motor in place, insert screws, insert power connector, replace cover. Use ice maker! Read more

After watching installation videos on each felt I could pull it off and ordered and received replacement water reservoir and water dispenser tube assembly. Reservoir installation went off without a hitch outside of the added step of the need to remove the entire main in waterline assy in order to access the connectors which also were not as represented in video, in that they were not the press-to-release type but standard threaded compression types. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed... Read more

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason.
