Ice buildup inside the freezer was caused by warm air beneath the freezer contacting cold air from inside the freezer the resulting condensation freezing and blocking the drain, causing the ice buildup inside. Simple fix of replacing a broken bracket that holds both water and ice micro switch's. The tabs holding water micro switch had broken so the switch would not activate when the water paddle was pushed. The hardest part is the control panel removal. Read more

The water dispenser stopped working on my Sears Kenmore (Whirlpool) side-by-side refrigerator and after much research on the web I purchased the parts that commonly failed for this condition. I should have first taken the dispenser assembly apart but I didn't--it looked a little too intimidating to do twice. Replaced both sets of door cams on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The most important thing to know is that you DO NOT have to remove the doors from the refrigerator to replace BOTH sets of cams. You just have to remove the lower grill which is a snap fit (I also turned off the water and unplugged the unit). My fridge has an ice and water dispenser where the water and electrical lines go through the cams on the left side. Be sure to order the correct parts as the cam holes on the freezer side... I had to remove a metal panel at the bottom back of the freezer as well as a couple of shelf slides in order to get at a drain pan in the back. It was frozen solid, so I stabbed at it with an ice pick until I broke through, followed up by poking a coat hanger in the drain hole to clear as much as I could, then poured a little boiling water over it to follow up. Easy to remove the metal parts from the old bin. The only problem was that the screw that holds the adapter has red thread locker and screwdriver rounded off the head of the screw. Drilled the screw and heated the screw to loosen the thread locker and used an ease out to remove the screw. Read more

Removed broken crisper drawer , had to remove a sliding humidity control slider that was snapped in, and another slide attatched to handle of drawer , my grandon did both for me and the new crisper pan was put in place Delivery was 3 days , could of been quicker if I choose but it was not an emergency repair . It was package well also and best part the price was 25% lower than Sears ! Read more

We actually were able to determine that one of the freezer switches was bad and taped it down for about 3 days. The beeping stopped. Our fridge has two freezer switches and one fridge side switch. I ordered all three from these guys. They were cheaper than Whirlpool by about $20 for parts and about $15 for shipping. Replaced door latch and switch. Parts are plastic so you must know what you are doing to avoid breaking new parts. Videos were hard to find for my model - eventually I found a video that addressed a different problem but required disassembly of a washer cabinet similar to mine. I removed the control panel using a putty knife and unplugged the wire to the latch switch. Then I remove 3 screws securing the washer's top panel to the back panel.
