Broken handle foot pedal and missing parts Donald M. • Lake Arrowhead , CA • April 05, 2015
This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy!

This defrost heater warms the evaporator coil during the automatic defrost cycle to melt frost and clear airflow. Replacing a failed heater helps prevent ice buildup and restores more consistent cooling performance throughout the refrigerator. What it does
- Heats the evaporator during defrost cycles to melt accumulated frost
- Keeps airflow paths clear so temperatures stay stable
- Helps prevent frost-clogged coils that reduce cooling
- Common signs of failure: heavy frost on the back wall/evaporator cover, weak cooling, evaporator fan hitting ice, or ice returning soon after a manual defrost
What's included
Install notes
- Disconnect power before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
- Access is behind the freezer's rear evaporator cover; remove shelves/bins and the panel
- Defrost heavy ice before removal to avoid damaging the coil or insulation
- Transfer any original mounting clips/insulators and route wires exactly like the original; avoid bending the heating element

Freezer not cold refrigerator not cold enough ice maker not working R.w. % Richard S. • Milton , IA • June 17, 2016
Unplug the fridge and slide it out from the wall. Remove the lower back cover. CLEAN EVERYTHING. We used compressed air, a vacuum, and a damp rag. The compressor was really hot because the unit was still limping along, so I set up a vortex fan to cool everything down. I removed the support wire, gently wiggled the capacitor off, then removed the relay. EASY! The overload relay was the problem. It rattled. I took it apart and found the insulator inside was shattered. It's hard to believe it was...
