The freezer door gasket was coming apart and wasn't sealing properly any more Leonard M. • Sunnyvale , CA • August 23, 2014
I ordered the replacement gasket and...replaced it.
One issue was that the replacement procedure was not at all like the video to which I was directed when I got the gasket. The video showed a gasket with a rigid flange that had to be inserted into the door structure. On my Amana, I clearly had to remove the inner plastic liner and set the gasket under it. This was not particularly difficult but certainly wasn't the same process.
Also, I removed the freezer door to do the replacement in...

Dishwasher would not start Mark M. • Midlothian , VA • July 16, 2016
Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find...

Water was leaking & then freezing in the bottom of the freezer compartment Ronald S. • Frankfort , IL • December 30, 2014
Replaced the water tube that went from the plastic tubing to the ice cube tray. Found that even though it was the same exact length as the original, there was only an extremely small gap from the end of the tube to a splash board. This may have been the root cause of my problems.

Refrigerator and freezer not cooling. Tom C. • Dorchester , MA • March 06, 2021
Tested start relay and fan with multimeter both passed.
The condenser would start only if the thermostat was on the highest setting and the refrigerator would cool for a while, stop and not restart unless I adjusted the defrost timer. Decided to replace the thermostat, defrost timer and defrost thermostat. The refrigerator is working as expected. FYI on a Kenmore 59669142992 the defrost timer is located under the freezer in the front right.

Ice maker leaking water into ice container through ice maker Matthew V. • Knoxville , TN • November 22, 2015
After some research on the internet,I found out that the most likely cause was a failed water inlet valve. The refrigerator is quite old so I wasn't going to spend an arm and leg on it to fix it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the part, at a reasonable price, that I needed on this website with a helpful how-to video to boot. The part I needed wasn't in stock. I was followed up with an e-mail stating an estimated time when the part would be released. A week or so later I received the...

The fan went bad it was no longer moving cold air from the freezer Gregory D. • Lancaster , PA • January 02, 2016
I removed both basket guides, removed the ice cube maker then removed the back wall panel, all only taking around 10 min. This gave me access to the fan, removed 2 more screws, disconnected 3 wires, all with connectors, then went in reverse to install new fan. 1/4" nut driver and a pair of needle nose pliers is all you need. The pliers are to remove the plastic wire keepers on the fan.
