I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. I ordered new seals from AppliancePartsPros.com. Finding the right seals was very easy, all based on model number of the appliance. While looking my unit over for other signs of wear, I noticed that a repair done by the prior homeowner to the lower wash arm was done improperly: a seal there was set protruding from the cover, the cover was missing screws, and the arm was missing the upper bushing. I found the part number, double checked it, and ordered the part, which arrived as promised. However, the part was just placed in a folded cardboard tube and was damaged by the shipper. I figured it was only a toe-kick, so I bent the part as best I could and installed it in 3 minutes. Read more

Replaced the heating element as shown in the video. Repaired a bad connector on the wire leading to the heating element. The clean light still flashed 3 times. Determined that the thermal fuse also needed to be replaced. Replaced the thermal fuse as shown in the video. The clean light now flashed 7 times which I discovered meant that the control panel needed to be reset. I then reset the control panel by pressing the buttons: normal, heated dry, normal, heated dry. I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. Removed bottom cover, located leak at float switch, removed and replaced float switch kit. The toughest part of the repair was removing the Float & Retainer Assembly (in the interior of the machine tank) which broke when I pushed it back and pulled it straight up as suggested in the service manual.
