Dishwasher not working well Andrew S. • Chico , CA • February 03, 2017
This is a 12 year old Kenmore, but my experience applies to many dishwashers. The machine had run for almost a year without being cleaned. I found parts had failed from age and water passages were jammed with hard-water deposits and pieces of food, labels, etc. that had gotten past the filters. I cleaned out what I could and replaced parts that could not be cleaned or were damaged. Dishwasher now works better than it has for years. The work, including ordering parts, took about 4 hours, but...

Broken handle foot pedal and missing parts Donald M. • Lake Arrowhead , CA • April 05, 2015
This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy!

This is a tine clip, also called a tine row pivot, that is commonly used in dishwashers. It is located in the top dish rack. The tine clip is designed to ensure the tine row stays in the right place in the dishrack. The tine clip is made of durable plastic. It can become cracked or damaged through regular use and cause the tine row to move out of place in the dishwasher. If the part is damaged or broken, it will need to be replaced.Replacing the tine clip does not require any specific tools, but work gloves can be useful. Make sure to unplug the dishwasher and turn off the water supply to the appliance before starting the replacement process. Remove the components that restrict access to the tine clip before pulling the clip out of the dishwasher. The new component can be placed in the same location before reassembly. Turn the power and water back on before use. This tine clip is designed to be used with dishwashers manufactured by Ikea, Kenmore, and Whirlpool. It is sold as an individual product. This is an authentic OEM replacement component that is sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Rusted tines on upper and lower racks Michelle L. • Sussex , WI • October 19, 2018
Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. Rather than further destroy my dishes by abrading them with rust particles, I decided to get new racks. They are terribly expensive, and I pondered getting a new dishwasher. It wouldn't be that much more expensive. But I love mine and how well it washes. It has a stainless interior, and all of the seals are in excellent shape. I didn't need any tools. (Although I'm a...

Initially thinking the thermal fuse was bad, I replaced it without doing my homework. It was actually the control panel. Ordered Wednesday night, in my hands Friday afternoon. Installation took all of six minutes and, what do you know, we have lights and dishwashing again! As always, great support options through the site. Thanks!

Dishwasher would start begin to fill with water then there would be 4 5 short "hums" or "buzzes" it would then shut off and drain what water had filled John S. • Granite Falls , MN • September 19, 2017
Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). Unit now works fine. Overall an easy fix once you get the washer out and tip it on its side or top to get access to the motor area.

We had a repair man come and inspect the unit (Independent). He said he would get the part and get back with us. Almost 8 weeks past, with many calls to the service for an update.
So I ordered the part he said was bad, the control board. He did not check the fuse. I ordered the fuse, the new board worked. I removed the new and replaced the old control board. Everything is fine. Thus, I am returning the board.
The suggestion to replace the fuse came from your on line tech. He saved me...
