One day my wife went to bake something and the bake/broil buttons as well as #3, #9, and oven light ceased to work. Local repair guy came by and wanted to charge $500 to fix it....YEAH RIGHT! Replaced the spray arm assembly. I found out BY ACCIDENT that this was the problem. I accidentally loosened the spray arm while checking the filters. The next load of dishes washed without any leaks, but after the load completed I noticed that the spray arm had fallen off. I read somewhere else that a cracked sprayer could cause this leaking condition as the water is sprayed in areas where it shouldn't be sprayed and there isn't any protection. I had no hope of separating the panel from the frame without damaging the frame since the two parts were rusted pretty badly and the screws holding the panel to the frame were completely beyond salvage. So I had to replace both the panel and the frame. I ended up removing the electrical/electronic connections, removing the panel/frame from the hinge and then replacing it with the new parts. DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more
