I turned off the water and the breaker, disconnected the water line and the power at the front base of the unit, disconnected the drain hose from the garbage dispenser, and pulled out the dishwasher and laid it on a blanket on its face. Followed the LG owner's manual instructions for cleaning the wash "arms". After that was complete the lower arm wouldn't operate. The filter assemble was caked with calcium, so decided to replace it and the lower spray arm and the "Holder" as your catalog described it. Removal and replacement were easy. I ordered new brackets to replace the broken ones. With the new brackets the instructions also showed me how I could also secure the dishwasher to the counter from each side. I replaced the brackets and secured the dishwasher to each side of the cabinets. The dishwasher is more secure now then ever. Read more

I ordered a tub seal to fix a gasket that let go in our LG LDS4821BB. Once I tore it apart to get the gasket out (little trouble) I also found what has made this DW stink for the last year. I needed to also replace the filter unit in the bottom of the tub and clean the heater area. I ordered the filter the same day I got the gasket. Both arrived WITHIN 48hrs of my order. Wow!! I replaced the dishwasher circulation motor. I also replaced the impeller assembly, although it turns out that was not necessary. Actually replacing the motor was straightforward: Remove the upper and lower racks. Turn off the breaker and water supply. Disconnect power, supply water and drain hose. Slide out the dishwasher. Whew... This was an adventure... Let me preface by saying that, for anyone considering simply replacing the circulation motor (AP5325099), save yourself alot of trouble and just replace the whole sump assembly (this part, AP5676704). For reasons that I don't have an adequate character limit to explain, getting a water-tight seal around the circulation motor shaft became impossible for me after installing a new circulation motor, and I'm really surprised more people haven't had a problem with... Rack assemblies came ready to go. Simple process to just swap them out. Made sure to "harvest" any good parts that were left from the old racks in case I needed them for later. Don't think I can trust LG again! Read more
