Replacement for LG ice maker 5989ja0002g Allen H. • Bossier City , LA • July 28, 2023
I have an LG side by side refrigerator from 2004. It’s a great refrigerator, even after 19 years, with a giant ice storage bin that holds probably 15 pounds of ice.
The ice maker quit making ice so I started looking for the replacement. The model number on the original ice maker is 5989JA0002G and that model number is no longer made. I found mixed information on what model number replaces the old one. The dimensions were my biggest concern because in the side by side the ice maker mounts on...

LG french door refrigerator lights failed Phil M. • Santa Cruz , CA • November 06, 2019
So I read a number of the earlier posts regarding the required repairs and went forward with all those repairs. In short, I replaced the wiring harness, door switches, and bulbs. The problem still persisted so I went ahead and replaced the control board. That did the trick. So for my unit, LG LFX25960ST replacing all those components were required. All repairs were easy and the videos and posts are all helpful.

Incandescent bulbs fried my refer control pcb Benton Z. • New Braunfels , TX • November 19, 2019
I could no longer control the temperature in either the frig or the freezer. The frig was stuck at 32 and freezer at 0. So FIRST - I replaced the incandescents with 2700K 60W equivalent LEDs (if I had to do it again, I'd use 5000K LEDs). I figured the problem was most likely with the PCB in the frig compartment, so I ordered a replacement from APP. After removing the housing from the frig (2 screws and a FIRM pull downwards. I did NOT turn off power to the frig - but then as an EE I'm not...

An lg double door refrigerator had broken drawers and a seal/stop cracked off so one door wouldn't close Linda R. • Saint Petersburg , FL • October 04, 2014
We looked at the diagrams on your site and were able to tell which parts we needed. We had tried other sites and could not recognize the parts because the diagrams did not have a zoom. LG would not give us the information because they have a contract with a local parts/repair company. We bought three parts and were able to fix the fridge without bringing in any outside help. We weren't sure about the seal/stop part but once we saw it we figured out how to replace it.
