Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The washing machine wouldn't drain David H. • Ellicott City , MD • September 03, 2016
I opened the washer and replaced the pump. To open the washer:
1. Remove the 2 screws that are different from the others in the top back corners of the machine. That will let you remove the top.
2. Remove the soap tray and its holder. The tray comes out if you depress the tab in the back center. Its holder comes out if you remove the two screws in the front. You can leave all the hoses attached.
3. Remove the control panel. It snaps in. Undo the top snaps first. You'll have to reach...

Te code error Michael H. • Blue Springs , MO • August 08, 2014
I first check the schematics to find the heat sensor. On my model it's c on the control panel. I checked the continuity on the orange and white wires. It showed some continuity but not much. I then went to the heater element and found the orange and white wires going to the thermistor. Turns out the heater element and thermistor need repalced.

Poor location of drain pump Michael D. • Lower Burrell , PA • March 11, 2016
First of all, I cannot believe that Samsung would actually think that putting the drain pump on the drum was a GOOD idea.
The fix was easy, When I bought the washer off an individual, She told me that she was informed the drain pump needed replaced. So I did that. Pain in the a&* du to the location and trying to secure the bolts. It broke off after a week. I found out that Samsung put out a repair bulletin and a customer service rep from this site emailed it to me. After looking up the parts,...

Dryer would not start. John K. • Lawrenceville , GA • November 03, 2017
The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh..
Be sure to keep track of all your screws.
BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person...

This is a shift actuator motor that controls the clutch mechanism in the washer's transmission. It engages and disengages the clutch to allow the washer to transition between agitation and spin cycles. Replace this part if the washer is not spinning, not agitating, or making unusual noises during cycle transitions.

Drain motor would not engage transmission gearbox Don T. • Jacksonville , FL • January 12, 2016
Replaced motor, I feel though that the spring tension is too high on the actuating lever, causing the small cable to stretch and not fully engage the clutch star, causing the tub to jump, and the sound of grinding due to not fully engaging the drive star. This has not happened since replacement of the motor, but will surely happen again I feel, as cable stretches. This is an exceptionally easy fix, no panels to remove, just tip machine to gain access to bottom, and the rest is pretty much...
