Washer banging and bouncing E M. • Debary , FL • February 24, 2018
My washing machine was making a loud thumping sound and bouncing around a bit. Research suggested that it could be bearings and/or the spider shaft assembly. After watching the instruction videos to replace the spider or bearings, I seen you need to replace both the shaft seal and tub gasket to get to the spider and bearings. So I ordered both and waited for them to arrive. Plan was to disassemble the washer, determine what was needed, order the additional parts needed, and reassemble after the...

Broken spider assembly; aka washer drum shaft assembly Jeff J. • Los Angeles , CA • November 01, 2015

We purchased our Samsung WF419 on a “Black Friday” special November 2009 expecting to get some good years out of the washer/dryer pair. We don’t run more than 2 or 3 loads a week in the washer, so ours has had relatively little use over the beginning of its anticipated and expected long life-cycle. When the “thumping” started on the spin cycle a...

Hose drain burst sending water all over the place Cynthia F. • Hilo , HI • April 16, 2020
Normally, I hire someone to come fix washer or dryer problems as time is limited and if the cost is close or more than the machine, I buy a new one instead. But since we are on shelter-in-place, I figure I could repair it since I have more time on my hands and my brother assured me, it was not hard to do. I took the top panel, door off and then looked online to find a service manual, which allowed me to take the front panel off. My suspected drain hose was the failure mode: the rubber tube...

Kenmore front load washer would not start no error code John A. • Woodinville , WA • January 24, 2017
The washing machine would allow you to program it, and all the lights on the control panel would light up, but pressing start did nothing. I tried putting the washer in diagnostic mode, but was unable to do so. The machine was not showing any fault code.
I originally thought it was a problem with the 'Start' button and I thought that I'd buy a replacement part from the original seller of the washer. I was told by the 'live help chat person' that the problem was likely in the washer user...

Samsung washer wasn't getting hot water anymore Scott S. • Palo Alto , CA • April 25, 2014
I found a youtube video about replacing the hot water valve in a Samsung washer. It looked pretty easy. I had been very satisfied with an earlier order from AppliancePartsPros.com, so I ordered this part on Sunday after 9PM, standard delivery, hoping to get the part by the end of the week. I was flabbergasted to receive the part TUESDAY MORNING! Wow! I followed the instructions in the youtube video exactly. It took around 15 minutes, because I was being very careful not to drop screws in...

Corroded assy flange (spider arm) on samsung washer Michael M. • Cary , NC • January 02, 2016
Washer is 8 years old. The spider arm was significantly corroded and shedding chunks which blocked the drain pump. If you find what looks like slate rocks in the drain pump, you've likely got this problem.
Disassembly was not difficult. There are many screws. Keep track of where they go. You have to remove the drum which means rear, top and front panels come off, including the bracket across the front that holds the control panel. None of this was difficult; only time consuming to keep track...

Very loud banging and shaking on spin cycle. Brent B. • Hudsonville , MI • April 20, 2020
I took apart the washer to find both of the weight balancers had broken in 2 and were banging around. They had also caused the boot seal to rip. I removed the broken weight balancers and replaced them along with a new boot seal. There was one small spot with the seal wasn't fully attached to the outer drum so I had to take it back apart to fix that minor error on my part. Otherwise, it was a fairly easy fix.

Samsung front load washer would not spin due to unbalanced spin cycle even empty. Jeffrey D. • Clive , IA • December 04, 2017
With all the bouncing around the shocks appeared to be done in but that was not the issue. The key was the balance ring. It had leaked all the fluid out causing all the beads to clump. This caused the drum to wobble wildly and not spin at speed.
Getting to the ring to replace it is not a trivial task and took me several hours. Would have been much easier with help as the drum is quite heavy. The on-line video's are very handy and should be watched before attempting this job to save you a...

I first check the schematics to find the heat sensor. On my model it's c on the control panel. I checked the continuity on the orange and white wires. It showed some continuity but not much.
