Noticed large banging in the washing machine when transitioning from low to high speed spin. Also would get a slight smell of burnt rubber. Did an online search and best guess was the spider arm assy was broken. Ordered the spider arm assy, the rear tub seal and the tub seal. Make sure you get blue threadlocker - you'll use it multiple times during the reassembly. The washer is 9 years old and is heavily used. I opened the washer and replaced the pump. To open the washer: 1. Remove the 2 screws that are different from the others in the top back corners of the machine. That will let you remove the top. 2. Remove the soap tray and its holder. The tray comes out if you depress the tab in the back center. Its holder comes out if you remove the two screws in the front. The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. For Samsung Washing clothes machine WA50F9A7DSP/A2 The large (about 1 inch) nut at the bottom of the tub that holds the tub onto the clutch/motor is NOT Appliance Parts Pros 6021-001573, described as NUT-HEXAGON M26 OD44 ZNDC1. This nut has a 24 mm internal diameter. It is marked ZNDC-1 MT26 70H on top of the nut and is left hand or reverse thread. It is slightly too small to thread onto the clutch shaft. First I checked the breaker and outlet and both were good...then I unplugged the machine, took the top off, and removed the control panel.
