Took the side cover off, noticed the chain brake assembly was damaged from the heat. Also after removing the clip securing the clutch drum I couldn't remove it. Had to use my biggest flat head screwdriver to force the drum off. The inner bearing was shot and the outer rim was worn with a lip on the bottom, reason it wouldn't come off the clutch. This is a chain bracket ensures the chain on the equipment remains attached and stable when the lawn tool is being used. This chain bracket is made of durable materials but over time, it can wear out or experience damage. If there is substantial damage or the chain bracket has broken, it will need to be replaced.If a replacement is needed, work gloves and a wrench set will be needed. Make sure the chainsaw is powered off and the spark plug wire has been removed from the equipment. The clutch itself will first need to be removed to get access to the chain bracket. Remove the old chain bracket using a wrench and take the new bracket and place it in the same location. The chain will interlock with it.
