Our washer won't stop filling with water on the first rinse cycle. On the initial wash cycle it's fine, but the first rinse, it won't shut off. If I turn off the water valve, it will stop filling and continue as normal. We have already replaced the pressure switch. We took off the hose to the pressure switch and it seems fine. It also seems that the first rinse cycle takes in the fabric softener instead of waiting for the last rinse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Tracy, You should first check connections to the door switch. If no problems, replace the door lock assembly 00184455. If this doesn't correct the issue, the main control 00481304 would be the next suspect.

I keep getting an error E04 code. I had a Bosch authorized service tech come out and he told me I use too much soap. I didn't think I did but reduced the amount of soap to approx. 2 tablespoons per wash load, no softner or bleach. I still get the E04 code. Do I need a need control board and can I replace this part myself. This error happens on all types of wash cycles. I have to drain, run a soak cycle then drain again and spin to get the wash finished. Or drain and rerun the load on 25 minute cycle without soap.

1 Answer

Lynne, Before replacing any parts you will want to try to run a clean cycle with white vinegar and the hottest water you can get to make sure that there is no soap residue that may have clogged a sensor or anything. Then you would want to try to run a cycle and if the problem persists then replace the control board.

Hello David, If the spin basket never turns you have either a bad motor control board, a bad motor, or a lost connection in the circuit. Check how drum rotates. If drum wobbles or won’t move, replace outer tub (containing faulty rear bearings). Check voltage at motor connectors when motor is energized. If low or no voltage, replace faulty motor control. If voltage ~ 120V, check motor resistance (when washer de-energized). If motor is OK, replace faulty motor control. Check voltage at motor connectors when motor is energized. If ~ 120V, check motor resistance (when washer de-energized). If motor faulty, replace faulty drum motor.

My 7 year-old Bosch Axxis washer works fine in all modes except for Regular/Cotton. No matter the temperature, the unit does not fully drain the washer in this mode, and I have to rotate the dial to "Spin" to drain and spin the laundry after running it. The washer drains in all other modes (e.g., Permanent Press), and also in "Spin" and "Drain" modes. I have checked the drain pump resistance and also tried replacing the drain pump, but the old one measured our fine in resistance and the new one didn't solve the problem. I also tried cleaning the various hoses and vent tubes, which were filled with gunk, but that didn't solve the problem either. Do I need a new Control Module or is there something else that I should try first?

1 Answer

Carter, Based on the information provided it does sound like the issue with the unit would be a fault in the control module 00481304.

Chuck, You will want to check the door latch assembly to make sure that it is good. If the door is not latching properly then it will sit idle and possibly shut off.

Motor doesn't spin under load. Motor pings out ok resistance between all 3 phases and ground (infinite) and about 8 ohms between phase leads. Pointing me towards control board. Control ouputs about 30-50 volts when meter is set to a/c and about 105-150 when meter is set to d/c. I was told that this is because of the 310hz frequency of the output current. I was also told that the voltage output could read ok, but that the frequency could not be correct which would lead to less power for motor. Is there any other test I can perform on board?

1 Answer

Hello Joe, Try the unit with the belt off to ensure the bearing isn't the issue. From the tests you have already run, it sounds as though the motor control module 00668952 will need to be replaced.

Brian, You will need to remove the dryer from the unit. Once you get the top off and the control panel to where you can roll it up you will want to take pictures of where the wiring goes. It should not be too difficult as the plugs only go to certain plugins but is best to take pictures as a reference.
