1 Answer Hello Alphonsio, The rinse aid dispenser holds enough rinse aid to last 2 1/2 to 3 months as per the manufacturer. The manufacturer, as far as I know, has never listed the capacity in ounces. The rinse aide is squirted into the dispenser door at the adjustment arrow as you stated. You need to make sure the setting is somewhere between 1 1/2 and 2. It should never be adjusted to over 2 since rinse aid foams. This will cause leaking from the front of the door and possibly a fault code, depending on the model. Read More...
Steve Clarke December 13, 2012 I have a 5 or six year old kitchen aid dishwasher just wanting to know what side are you supposed to put the soap in the left or right side? I have been putting it in on the right side with the slits cut my wife uses the other side. To me using the left side as she does the soap just goes the the bottom right off the bat. cant find our book is why I'm asking!

Shannon September 09, 2012 for Model Number SHV66A03UC/23 The detergent lid remains closed during approx 50% of cycles and the soap is still in it at the end. Why is it not opening? Do I just need to replace the lid or the entire assembly unit?
1 Answer Hi Shannon. The detergent lid opens with a series of control board sending the proper timed voltage to the wax motor to open the lid. From there the wax motor has to heat up and contact mechanisms to slide and release springs and plungers. It is hard to tell on an individual basis what is exactly wrong with your unit unless examined.
