Causes of a bad detergent dispenser assembly can include broken or loose mounting points, a dispenser that no longer locks into place, or a damaged latch mechanism preventing the dispenser from opening.

Symptoms of a bad detergent dispenser assembly include:

  • Detergent not dispensing or distributing as intended
  • Dispenser door unable to close or remains open
  • Excess clutter inside the dishwasher
  • Ineffective cleaning or dirty dishes after cycles

For Bosch Detergent Dispenser Assembly (Part Number: OEM8407029)

Hello Alphonsio, The rinse aid dispenser holds enough rinse aid to last 2 1/2 to 3 months as per the manufacturer. The manufacturer, as far as I know, has never listed the capacity in ounces. The rinse aide is squirted into the dispenser door at the adjustment arrow as you stated. You need to make sure the setting is somewhere between 1 1/2 and 2. It should never be adjusted to over 2 since rinse aid foams. This will cause leaking from the front of the door and possibly a fault code, depending on the model.

Hi Laura, you can order the parts. The cross reference doesn't include every model. The soap dispenser 00263088 and lower spray arm 00359975 are correct for your model. Thanks!

Hi Shannon. The detergent lid opens with a series of control board sending the proper timed voltage to the wax motor to open the lid. From there the wax motor has to heat up and contact mechanisms to slide and release springs and plungers. It is hard to tell on an individual basis what is exactly wrong with your unit unless examined. Another scenario can be that there may be either detergent or liquid rinse aid leaked and jamming the efforts on the back side warranting total replacement of part # 00263088. Thank You.
