Sam January 06, 2020 My upright freezer is not running, and the display board is not working correctly. The up arrow button is nonresponsive, and when I press the down arrow, the lights for the numbers change but they’re glitched and not displaying numbers, but random shapes. At one point the freezer door was left ajar overnight, and I was worried it overheated trying to make up for that. But given the glitchy display, I figured that wasn’t it.
1 Answer Hello Sam, if the freezer is getting correct voltage from the outlet, 120v, check the wiring from the door to the cabinet for any pinched/damaged/broken wires, if all ok then replace the control board 297370600. Read More...
Jim December 10, 2019 I have a upright Frigidaire freezer. We lost power to our house. When the power came back on the freezer did not work, the control board is towards the top of the door to the side. After a few times of unplugging and plugging it back the displays show a couple lines, but does not display a number or error code. I checked the start relay for continuity and that seems to have it. Could this user control board be the problem? is there something else I should check? Sincerely, Jim G
1 Answer Jim, That control board supplies power to the fans and compressors. Even without a model number to check a wiring diagram that is most likely your problem. Read More...
Constance September 30, 2019 for Model Number LFFU14F5HWN I have a Frigidare Electrolux upright freezer and after a power outage, my freezer was not sending out cold air to freeze the food (food was defrosting) and the electronic temperature control on the door was not showing all adjustable numbers . What could be the problem?
2 Answers Hello Constance, the control board 297370600, in the door controls operation of the freezer, it likely was damaged by the power outage, check ithe outlet first that it does have 120v first. Read More...

Aimee Ross July 25, 2019 for Model Number FFU21F5HWY I lost power about a week ago and my Frigidaire upright freezer stopped working. The lights come on inside but nothing else runs. The electronic display shows half numbers and sometimes H and sometimes L. I have left it unplugged for a whole day and plugged it back in and does the same. I have also tried plugging into a different outlet. When I plug it back in it beeps a few times too.
1 Answer Aimee, For this issue, the most likely cause of failure would be a faulty control board. Read More...
Jerry July 02, 2019 for Model Number LFFH17F7HWD On the user control panel, the door ajar light stays on. I can reset the alarm, but after 5 minutes alarm comes back. Turning off the power to freezer and back on again does reset door ajar light for a while, then it comes back on with audible alarm. Everything else is normal, except inside light does not always come on. Will a new door switch fix the problem?
1 Answer Jerry, you may want to inspect the door switch 216822900 to ensure that the door is fully engaging it. If the door switch is fully engaging it, then you may want to test the door switch for continuity. When the door switch is not being pressed in, there should not be any continuity, and when it is pressed it should read continuity. Based on the descriptions, the most likely issue would be any improperly operating contact point in the door switch. However, if the door switch tests good after pressing the switch in and out multiple times and testing for continuity, then it would be likely that the main control 297235200 is not operating properly. Angela June 05, 2019 for Model Number FFU17F5HWD Hi. My stand up freezer is having some electrical type issues. The front display will go off and the light inside will not work, but it is still cooling. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it will reset and work correctly, but happens again all too soon. I have replaced the surge protector it is plugged in to with no difference. Is there something else that could be going out that I can replace?
1 Answer Angela, This is caused by a faulty control board. You would need to replace part number 297370600 Read More...
Amy June 02, 2019 for Model Number FFU14F5HW My Frigidaire upright freezer with electronic temp control has been weird periodically. It will run fun for weeks to months then suddenly act up. The display will say 6 as the setting on the outside but then nothing is happening on the inside: no cold air, no light, not running. But if I unplug it for a few min it comes on right away after and runs fine for weeks to months. This time I didn’t catch it right away and there was a little defrosting going on. But once again unplugged and replugged and if worked. Months ago when it did this the display was showing something but it was not a number or a letter. Almost looked like a backwards “h”. Any thoughts? Control board?
1 Answer Amy, based on what has been described, the most likely issue would be with the control board as a hard reset will temporarily correct the issue for a good length of time. If it was a mechanical failure the reset would not have been effective. Read More...
Jay April 29, 2019 for Model Number LFFU17F5WHL Over the weekend my Frigidaire Upright Freezer stopped working.I noticed that the display on the control panel was displaying my selected setting but the items inside had started to thaw. The High Temp alarm was not activated and when I open the door the Door Ajar light dose not illuminate. The compressor or fan would not run even if I increased the temperature setting or unplugged and plugged the unit back in.The the numbers on the display has a "dot" diplayed next to it. (4.) I never noticed the dot before. Come to find out we experienced a power outage the day prior when away at work. Could the surge of the power coming back on damage the control board?
1 Answer Jay, For this issue the most likely cause for the unit to not be running at all would be the User Interface Board 297370600. Read More...
