Amy for Model Number FFU14F5HW My Frigidaire upright freezer with electronic temp control has been weird periodically. It will run fun for weeks to months then suddenly act up. The display will say 6 as the setting on the outside but then nothing is happening on the inside: no cold air, no light, not running. But if I unplug it for a few min it comes on right away after and runs fine for weeks to months. This time I didn’t catch it right away and there was a little defrosting going on. But once again unplugged and replugged and if worked. Months ago when it did this the display was showing something but it was not a number or a letter. Almost looked like a backwards “h”. Any thoughts? Control board?
Answer Amy, based on what has been described, the most likely issue would be with the control board as a hard reset will temporarily correct the issue for a good length of time.
