Michael, If there is water coming from the sides of the dispenser then look to make sure that the tubing in the dispenser is still in proper position in the housing. If it sill not shut off then check the door switch to make sure that it good. If the switch checks ok. If this is ok then the issue would most likely be caused by a faulty water valve.

Pam for Model Number ffhs2313lm9

we went away in May and shut the water line off the to fridge, for safety, when we got home and turned the water back on the ice machine was not working, and occasionally the water did not dispense out of the door. Last year about the same time we came home to a similar situation, I bought and replaced both the machine and water valve, worked great. I researched the whole ice situation here on the website, was led to believe it was the water valve again, bought a new one, my husband put it in, nothing, he reset the filter setting because he read the filter can be the cause, is this true? I mean I have spent around $300 with in the past year on parts and my family uses lots of ice, at $250 a bag that gets spendy

John for Model Number FFSS2614QS6A

My Frigidaire Fridge uses a PureClear3 filter, number WF3CB. I have been getting 3 months out of each filter before replacing, but the last time it stopped working (water coming out slower and slower until it was just trickle) within 3 weeks. The water is already being filtered quite well upstream of the fridge, so I'm wondering what else I could do to clean the water. Filters where I am (Bermuda) are $69 each, so this is getting quite expensive!

1 Answer

John, If you have a reverse osmosis or other type of filter on the home that is already filtering the water then it would be recommended to put the bypass plug in and not use a filter in the refrigerator. The issue of the water coming out slower sounds likely that it could be a filter head that is faulty or a issue with the water valve if the ice is still producing good cubes.

Hello John, You could have a bad water filter housing, a frozen water line in the door, or a frozen water reservoir. For a more detailed diagnosis and correct part numbers, we will need to ask you to post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello Jack, Being under full manufacturers' warranty, the best option, in this case, is to call the manufacturer or authorized servicing dealership for service and have them correct the issue. The water lines need to be completely installed into the filter head fittings and the lines verified not to be ruptured or leaking. The filter head should also be verified good.

Hello Henry. No need for 15 gallons. Just do 2-3 gallons to remove any air in the lines. Thank you.

Hello Sally. Test for power to the water valve when you press the dispenser switch. If there is power there and no water, you will need to replace the valve 242252702. The filter should be good since the icemaker is working. Thank you.
